The Sunrise Celebration is a new festival that started to mark Summer Solstice 2006, and "was born out of a desire to provide an ethical alternative to the host of mainstream pop-culture festivals that dominate the summer season". It could be described as Big Green Gathering for a more dance-orientated audience, with strong environmental policies and a superb lineup of music, workshops, talks, and things to enjoy. Even the site layout embodies a fitting sacred geometry - 12 circular zones aligned around a central arena, with zones containing an impressive collection of stages, temples, cafes, shows, and groovy spaces - 12 flavours of celebration harmonising on that central beauty of nature, the Sun and its daily rising.
