In 2008 The Secret Garden Party fanned the flames of revolution by instigating The Big Burn. For two days a large model ship, The Galleon, served as a floating dance floor on the lake. On Saturday evening the guests abandoned ship to be replaced by a more explosive cargo. As a parade of fire jugglers and fire spinners made its way along the lake's shore, archers set sail and loosed flaming arrows upon The Galleon. The ship responded with a magnificent firework display before being completely consumed in the conflagration. By morning only the charred metal shell remained; and thus was a tradition born.
